THE GREEN STEP: FORWARD-LOOKING NETWORK FOR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES- Article

The Green Step Consortium is delighted to announce the successful completion of the third phase of their project, “The Green Step Forward – Looking Network for Sustainable Communities” (PR3). This represents a significant achievement in the consortium’s mission to promote sustainability and climate action awareness in adult education while fostering the growth of sustainable communities.

The primary objectives of PR3 were multi-faceted and ambitious, aiming to create a vibrant and sustainable network of adults committed to environmental stewardship. To realize this vision, the project partners engaged in a collaborative effort that included adult educators, students, local stakeholders, entrepreneurs, community authorities, and key decision-makers in the realm of environmental sustainability. Their collective dedication fueled the success of the project.

The Green Step: The Green Step Community Programme: Article

The Green Step Consortium is happy to share that the Community Programmes have been implemented in each of the partners countries: Netherlands, Cyprus, Romania, Italy and Denmark.

The Green Step Community Programme provided adult learners, specially migrants, with high-quality
learning opportunity through a flexible blended-learning community training programme.
Thus, improving knowledge and skills associated with self-transformation in issues relevant to
sustainability and climate change.

The Training Toolkit, together with the Curriculum, provides adult educators and trainers with a list
of interactive, participatory activities, that could be potentially and/or partially integrated in the
activities of current training integration programmes for vulnerable adults and migrants/refugees.
All partners were amazed by the groups energy! The participants were really excited with the
training programme and eager to learn the concepts, as global warming, CO2 and greenhouse
effect.

Green Step Project in 3 steps:

We are in the midst of the project’s activities:

1- We have finalised a multilingual CURRICULUM for trainers wiling to deepen the themes of environmental sustainability;

2- We have created a TOOLKIT of practical and interactive activities to train adults and migrants to support the ecological transition, and focused on circular economy, development of green skills and adoption of sustainable lifestyles;

3- NOW we are working to create NETWORKS with local stakeholders to structure inclusive and future-oriented sustainable communities!

GREEN STEP FOR CURRICULUM and GREEN STEP COMMUNITY PROGRAMME

The Green Step partner countries are proud to announce that two of our Project Results, i.e., PR1: THE GREEN STEP CURRICULUM and PR2: THE GREEN STEP COMMUNITY PROGRAMME have now been developed.

The Green Step project aspires to support, raise awareness, and build capacity about environmental and climate-change challenges in the sphere of adult education to help both adult educators and learners develop knowledge, skills, values and behaviour.
